Buyer/Purchasing Agent

Maintain and manage all warehouse inventory levels; regularly spot-check product for quality in warehouse

Communication and coordination with home office on transfer of goods

Act as a liaison between the sales and warehousing teams as needed

Maintain current knowledge of market conditions to optimize market swings and fluctuations
-
Initiate orders, track transit times, and process related paperwork and documentation
-
Investigate potential product quality complaints
-
Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned
-
Determines standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel assigned
-
Other projects or tasks assigned by Management as needed

Qualifications:
-
Associate’s degree from accredited two-year college or university
-
Prior experience in purchasing/procurement
-
Previous food procurement experience strongly preferred
-
Strong working knowledge of database systems operation
-
Must be a team player with a positive attitude
-
Self-starter, professional, goal oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
-
Must have a sense of urgency and be able to work under pressure, be comfortable in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

Flexibility: ability to work well with all departments and levels of staff both internally & externally

Ability to effectively communicate in the English (written, oral) Bi-Lingual English/Spanish or Italian highly preferred
